Employee benefits
Blue expects its employees to be enthusiastic, hardworking and professional in everything they do. Training and development
Blue’s Training and Development department is responsible for all products and systems training, as well as providing in-house development programmes such as: Induction for new employees, leadership, conflict management, time management, sales, customer care, presentation skills, and business etiquette to mention a few.
We provide employees who qualify, with the opportunity of an interest free study loan, and upon successful completion are proportionately reimbursed. Through funding from the BANK Sector Education and Training Authority (BANKSETA), we are able to send staff on the junior or middle management programme, as well as management and executive development short courses. Funding through BANKSETA is also available for the women’s development programme, doctoral studies and the international executive development programme.
Skills development
To accelerate the development of skills even further, Business Advancement Training (BAT) candidates are selected per country. These employees are trained in marketing and public relations to further advocate their country internally and externally. They become spokespeople for the business and attend a management programme at the Wits business school as well as an internship at Blue’s operations throughout Africa to gain a holistic picture of the business and so promote Blue as an international organisation.
Our employees are also encouraged to attend and take part in global conferences and training on micro-finance, and have delivered white papers at forums such as the ICSB World Conference in Seoul, Korea.
Quite simply, we believe our people are our business, and as we grow as a business, our people grow too.
